Who benefits from the Car Show?

   This will be the 4th Annual Cool Cars for Charity event. Each year we hold a benefit to raise money for a good cause. We will donate part of this money to the Ag Department of Hughson High School and will also donate money for a scholarship in memory of Chic Thomas. This year we will also add Joe LaRosa to our cause.

   Joe LaRosa has lived in Hughson all of his 63 years. He and his wife Dolly, have celebrated more than 40 years of marriage on the corner of Service and Tully. On April 27th, Joe left his house like he did every morning to work on the family farm. Little did he know he would be the victim of a terrible accident.

   It is a miracle that Joe is alive today. He sustained some very serious injuries to the left side of his body. He suffered a crushed pelvis, dislocated hip, fractured left arm, and numerous deep tissue bruises that will take months to heal.

   Joe's injuries are extensive and the rehabilitation process will be lengthy. Since Joe was a victim of hi-and-run; their own medical insurance is the only option they have for payment.  Unfortunately, only 80% of the medical costs are covered, and the cost of the rehabilitation hospital is enormous. Joe and Dolly have been told that Joe's recovery will span from 1 - 5 years depending on how his body heals.

   As friends, members of the community, and business associates we are asking for help. If you would like to make a donation to go towards Joe's medical expenses it would be greatly appreciated.
